Applying is quick and simple. Once you apply, our team will contact you within a few days, often sooner, to discuss your suitability for casual labour work with Custm. We will assess your skills and guide you through the process, including job expectations, safety protocols, and how to manage shifts through our platform. We’ll also explain how payments are processed and all other important details you need to know before starting. You could be ready to start working and earning within 48 hours of your application.
As a casual labourer with Custm, you are free to choose your own attire for deliveries. However, for safety reasons, you are required to wear steel cap boots while in the depot and during deliveries. Additionally, a safety vest is mandatory at the depot and recommended while making deliveries. Safety vests can be obtained from our offices nationwide.

Support and Communication
Our drivers are our people. Most of our team were previous drivers, so we understand the challenges you face on the road daily. Your safety and success is our primary concern. As such, we have Driver Ambassadors and Territory Leaders located at all of our client host sites to support you each morning and get you on the road. You are not alone, we are here to support you and actively cheering for you!

In the unfortunate circumstance, you have an incident on a job, you can report it live within our driver app, but you can always contact us directly at Fleet HQ. Here is a short explainer video on how to report an incident via our custm Driver App. Emergency assistance: If you have an emergency during delivery times, please contact 000 for help. Always call 000 before contacting the custm team if you need emergency services.
You can contact your Driver Ambassador or Territory Leader, or call Support via the app. You must always comply with laws on the use of mobile phones while driving. It’s general safety knowledge that any calls while driving must be taken hands-free.
The safety of any driver and the valuable cargo they carry, is our highest priority. As such, we have a Fleet HQ to support you throughout your day, while incidents can be reported on the spot within our driver app. We track each driver as they go about their day so we can respond quickly and efficiently to these unfortunate events. Any reports and/or documentation will be communicated to all parties as required.
Payments and Working Hours
When you view a job shift offering, you’ll see the pick-up location and estimated duration. At Custm, we are committed to ensuring our casual labourers are paid fairly. Minimum payment amounts will be shared with you during onboarding and are also accessible through our app. We also offer a Driver Rewards program that provides significant rewards as you complete more job shifts, ranging from $500 to $1500. Additionally, you can refer other drivers via our app and earn extra rewards.
Please note that actual earnings may vary based on factors such as your location, the length of the job shift, and other variables. Mandatory breaks are unpaid and are determined based on the time you are on the road during your shift. Detailed information about your pay and any breaks will be provided in the app when you accept a job shift.

As an independent contractor, you are generally responsible for your own expenses. Your pay rates include a component for mileage payments as required by law. For some job shifts, if you use toll roads, you may be eligible for reimbursement. To receive reimbursement for tolls, you need to submit a request along with the necessary supporting evidence, such as receipts or toll invoices.
You can track your payments on the Past Jobs screen of the Custm Driver App. Payments are processed every Monday via direct deposit to the bank account you provided during sign-up. If you are eligible for toll reimbursement, the payment will be processed separately once you provide the necessary information for client host verification. Please note that in the event of a bank or public holiday, payments may be delayed by one additional business day.

When you sign up with custm, you’ll pick up packages from custm client host depots and deliver them directly to customers. You will arrive at the depot at a scheduled time, load your vehicle with multiple deliveries (at least 20) then once you’re cleared to leave, you will deliver these parcels. Delivery blocks are between 4 and 12 hours long depending on your vehicle type and client requirements, so you can choose the hours that you work. Parcel sizes vary, and can range from 200 grams to 25 kg. Generally, parcels are small and light, but where heavier items are to be delivered, a trolley can be used to avoid heavy lifting.
